Whether you want to be near the hustle and bustle of the tech industry or enjoy the coastal life, the Pacific Northwest lifestyle is hard to beat.

If you’re looking to put down some roots in the region by building a new custom home, you’re going to need the perfect plot of land. We’ve gathered some local land listings to help you in your search. From tidy little lots near the sound in Hoodsport to a sprawling homestead by the sea in Port Angeles, you can envision your dream home on one of these properties.

Home Options in Hoodsport

There are currently several lots available in Hoodsport, both in subdivisions and as standalone properties.

Location: 300 N. Cushman Ridge Drive, Hoodsport, WA

Located on the more secluded west side of Lake Cushman, this private waterfront lot is a great vacation getaway or retirement option. There is an existing driveway that leads to the cleared portion of the lot, so some of the site work has already been done. A trail through the woods leads down the gentle slope to the water, where you can swim or put in a dock for your boat. Splash around in the creek that runs through the property, and to explore more trails, head down the street to Skokomish Park at Lake Cushman.

Just down the street, you’ll find a rare opportunity for a larger lot on which the entire property is located on the water side of the road. With its own little cove that spans 860 feet of waterfront, you can have the vacation retreat you have always dreamed of. With multiple building and/or camping spots available, there’s also room for the extended family to spend an entire season together. A floating dock already exists, so you can start boating and playing on the water before your house is even finished. Enjoy both water views and the Mount Rainier vista on this gorgeous lakeside property.

Suitable for either a vacation home or a permanent residence, this property has an elementary, middle, and high school within just a few miles. This wooded lot will require some site work, so factor that into your budget when deciding which floor plan to build.

Listing price: $42,500

Size: 0.25 acres

Consider building a porch so you can take in the sunsets over the peaks. Located just five minutes from Interstate 5, this is a perfect home for commuters who want to escape the busy city life while still enjoying nearby restaurants, shops, and other amenities. If you’re into water-based activities, you’ll have easy access to several Puget Sound inlets. The septic system has been approved for two bedrooms, making it suitable for a vacation home or permanent retirement residence. If you’re not quite ready to build, bring the RV on the weekends and make s’mores in the existing fire pit. There’s also a small shed on the property for storing equipment and tools. Pacific Beach State Park is just across the creek, so you’ll always have plenty to explore.
