If you are considering moving to the North Willamette Valley and building a new home, one of the most important steps is finding the right piece of land. Whether you want to be in or near a larger city such as Portland or Salem, or have vineyard views from the porch, Northwest Oregon has it all. If you’re actively looking for land, or even just browsing, consider these seven available lots in the North Willamette Valley.

You’ll find lots with easy access to coastal activities, private hiking trails, and mountain views. From small lots that require little maintenance to large expanses of land for you to work and play on, there are plenty of options for building a new home in Northwest Oregon.

A seasonal creek at the north end of the property is the perfect place for little ones to explore nature or to splash around on a hot day. Both forest and mountain views enhance the connection to the land, and the wide-open spaces let the sunshine in all year long. Build near the big oak tree for natural shade in the summer and keep your kayaks handy for when the river beckons.

Picture your homestead on nine acres just south of Glide and near the beautiful Umpqua National Forest to the east. This forested lot has merchantable timber, so in addition to being a beautiful secluded site, it’s also a smart investment. Be sure to budget for site work for this heavily wooded, sloped property, but once you’ve built the home of your dreams, you’ll have it for a lifetime.

Go on daily outdoor adventures in your own private forest or pack your hiking shoes and a picnic to explore the waterfalls and hot springs in the nearby national forest. Pop into Glide to watch the mesmerizing Colliding Rivers or stock up on provisions and go for a meal in nearby Roseburg.

Expect some site work, but the seller is offering to drill the well—and there are existing rocked roads throughout the property.

Your daily commute along the Mackenzie River is sure to bring the stress level down, especially if it includes crossing one of the state’s longest covered bridges. Mountain bikers, hikers, and runners come from all over the region to enjoy the Mackenzie River Trail, which would literally be in your backyard if you build your new custom home here.

This property also includes a significant amount of merchantable timber, making it a long-term investment in multiple ways.

Nearby Springfield allows you to be just minutes from shopping, restaurants, and other amenities, and nothing beats the local culture in Eugene. Take a daily hike through your own private mountain retreat, or venture out to one of the nearby national forests for a day hike or camping.

With just a quick jaunt to the ocean and several lakes, water lovers will enjoy the views, fresh sea air, and easy access to swimming, boating, and fishing. Old Town Florence is bursting with coastal charm, and everything you need is within just a few miles.

Fish for trout in Butte Creek, watch the elk and deer wander past, or go for a dip in your own little swimming hole. If you can tear yourself away from the gorgeous views, Woodburn and the I-5 corridor are less than 20 miles away. Both Salem and Portland are less than an hour away, so it could be perfect for a weekend getaway from the big city, or possibly even for a daily commute.
