The Brown Family Customizes the Ainsworth Floor Plan
Today, the Brown family's new Adair home stands proudly among the pine trees on their five acres. Customized and designed specifically for their unique lifestyle and budget, the home came together after months of planning and hands-on craftsmanship.
“I’ve lived in an Adair home my entire life,” says Jacob Brown. “My parents remodeled the family home three times, so I’ve seen the insides—and the quality is good! I felt like Adair was a trustworthy company to choose.”
After spending some time looking through Adair’s online floor plan gallery, the Browns decided on the Ainsworth—adding a few special customizations of their own. The process was collaborative and creative.
Says Brown, “The customer service was top-notch. Every person I worked with really wanted to help me. The project superintendent was available all day, every day to answer any question that I had…and because he has been doing this for as long as he has, if he didn’t know the answer off-hand, he knew someone who would know the answer. He was a valuable resource and a wealth of information.”
Customizing a standard floor plan is easy with Adair Homes. While the standard Ainsworth plan is already a well-designed, value-engineered home, the Brown family's customizations added unique features that tailored the home to their specific needs and tastes.
A value-engineered home is designed to give you the best of both worlds: high quality and affordability. By carefully planning every detail and choosing the best materials and construction methods, Adair Homes ensures that every home we build is both functional and cost-effective. This means you get a beautiful, durable home that doesn’t break the bank, either during construction or in future maintenance. It's all about smart design choices that save you money without sacrificing comfort or style.

Customizations Made by the Brown Family
Countertops
Instead of the standard quartz countertops, the Brown family chose the beautiful and classic Silver Cloud Granite for all solid surface areas. This granite countertop has sterling and fog grey swirled through different shades of Ivory and white.
Flooring
In place of the standard options, the Browns selected Shaw Flooring’s Laminate Emergance Plus in the color Kismet for living areas and LVP Shaw Urban Organics in the color Pearl for the bathrooms.
Cabinetry
The Browns opted for soft-close cabinets with a shaker door design and an Ebony stain, adding a touch of elegance and convenience throughout the home.
Layout Modifications
The most significant customization was the transformation of the second bedroom into an expanded primary bathroom. This change allowed for an extended primary bedroom and the creation of a walk-in closet. By redesigning these rooms they were able to create a more luxurious and spacious primary suite, tailored to their lifestyle needs.
While the standard Ainsworth plan is already a smart investment and a comfortable living space, the Brown family’s customizations demonstrate how Adair Homes can adapt and enhance a plan to meet specific desires—whether those be space, style, or living requirements. The Brown Family home is a perfect blend of functional design and personalized features—and we know it will be a cherished space for many years to come.
“If I had the chance to do this again I would for sure,” says Brown. “I plan to build a second house here on this property in the next ten years. Working with Adair was wonderful and I had a really good time doing it.”
