The ice has melted, the flowers are blooming, and it is time for new beginnings! Spring is a wonderful time for not only spring cleaning but for taking action on those dreams put on the back burner. The beauty of the custom home building process is that you can customize every detail to design the life you’ve always wanted.

When it comes to breaking ground on your dream home, just like any dream, a firm foundation is absolutely crucial to a home you will love for a lifetime. At Adair Homes our happy clients often blog about the process of  building their custom home. This gives you an opportunity to explore the “real world” of building a custom home and if it’s right for you. Here is a glimpse through the eyes of our customers while breaking ground on the foundation of their Adair home.

1. Perimeter set:

The floor plan is plotted out and then the perimeter is prepped for the concrete pour. This young family loved seeing the vents and rebar inside and discovering how the skeleton of a house creates a home.

2. Concrete poured:

Next the concrete pours to set the perimeter. From here you continue upward with your walls so getting this base level set properly sets up the whole home.

3. Slab on grade poured:

The concrete pours over an already leveled base of usually gravel, however this Toledo family was able to save money by using the clay from the foundation dig for their base. Let the concrete pour!

Once level and dry you have your basement floor, and the building begins on top of your newly established foundation.
