In a recent poll conducted by Trulia, 43% of total respondents identified the Craftsman style as their favorite home exterior. According to the poll, Millennials especially gravitated towards the style—its focus on natural materials, unique details, and functional design winning out over nearly every other style. It's a fact—the preferred stylings of the Arts and Crafts movement is having a revival moment, along with its close rival—the Farmhouse.

YOUR HOUSE, YOUR STYLE

THE LIVINGSTON (2830) (craftsman)

All in the Details

Together, these elevations share common ground: prominent front porches, wide overhanging eaves, and an approachability that can't help but invite others in for a closer look.

We’ve heard the consensus loud and clear—and Adair Homes has added Craftsman and Farmhouse exterior elevations to a number of our most popular plans. These versatile, family-friendly plans have been upgraded so that your home can reflect the real you! How do we do it? By utilizing modern design esthetics and high-quality building materials.

Here's a sneak peak into Adair Homes’ architectural design studio renderings; enjoy!

Craftsman Exterior

THE ST.HELENS (2711)(craftsman)

The Craftsman exterior package shows the difference is in the details, with open porches, a high-pitched gable roof, and projecting eaves. It uses natural materials, and many of our Craftsman packages include the tell-tale exposed wood columns and beams on the front porch. Also of special note are the divided lite windows.

     • Timber frame detailing with metal accents at front porch areas.
     • Combination of James Hardie© Board and Batt siding,  Lap siding, Cedar shake and rough
timber corbels on the front elevation, lap siding around the sides and back.

Farmhouse Exterior

THE WINCHESTER (1560) (farmhouse)

A modern take on the classic farmhouse design. It refers to a simpler, utilitarian design with gabled rooflines and simple exterior finishes to give it a cleaner look. It brings up memories of the past, but with streamlined modern materials. Like the classic farmhouses we have incorporated covered porch areas into our designs.

     • James Hardie© Board and Batt siding on the front elevation, lap siding around the sides and
      back.
     • James Hardie© 5/4x4 trim around the front windows (square frame).
     • Eyebrow roofs over garage door and specified window locations with decorative corbels.
     • Tight-knot cedar porch posts with angled brackets at top.
     • Bead board soffit at front porch ceilings.
     • Therma-Tru© Shaker style front door with integrated side lite - simple style, clean look.
     • Divided lite windows to match divided lites in front door.
