Find me on:

There are lots of really fun decisions to be made when designing your kitchen, whether you’re an enthusiastic home cook or just love some tasty takeout. Some of the best conversations in any home take place over a good meal, so it’s ok to splurge a little and design a kitchen that you simply love to be in. With dozens of custom home floor plans to choose from, you have lots of options. And here’s the best part: if you see a feature in one kitchen that you’d like to add to a different floor plan, we totally do that.

Here are some questions to help you choose the floor plan with the perfect kitchen:

  1. Do you prefer an island or a peninsula?
  2. Do you want an extended ledge on your island for casual meals?
  3. Do you want your sink installed in your island?
  4. Do you want a second prep sink designed in your island?
  5. Do you want your stove and oven in your island?
  6. Do you want electrical outlets in your island? (Recommended)
  7. Do you want double ovens in your kitchen?
  8. Do you want storage in your island?
  9. Do you need a walk-in pantry with plenty of room to store items from your Costco run?
  10. Do you have odd-sized appliances such as mixers and espresso machines that you need to accommodate?
  11. Do you need a kitchen large enough for several people to work in?
  12. Do you prefer an eat-in kitchen area?
  13. Do you want direct access from the kitchen to the backyard for grilling or entertaining?
  14. Do you want direct access from the garage for bringing groceries in from the car?

This list is not comprehensive; it’s simply a starting point to get your creative juices flowing. What else can you think of that you absolutely want - or don’t want - in your new kitchen?
